About Frequency Lists

My preferred method of learning new vocabulary words is to focus on the highest frequency words in the manga I’m reading.

Methodology

The frequency lists are generated using Mokuro to extract text from manga images, then Ichiran to parse that text into words and expressions.

For some series, I’ve compiled a list of character names, which I exclude from the frequency list.

For a small number of serires, I’ve identified certain pages, such as copyright pages and other non-content pages, to exclude from the frequency list.

I don’t know what I’d like to have for stats, so for now I’m putting stats similar to what JPDB uses.

Frequency lists

Series I am currently reading will have new volumes added over time. Series which I am not reading, including those I have stopped reading, will not have new volumes added over time.
