About Tracking Lists

These pages list the vocabulary or kanji appearing in a manga series or volume. Listed items are shown in order of frequency, starting with the highest frequency.

Note that the process to generate these lists involves taking manga, which for older series often has low resolution and quality, and running it through Mokuro to locate words and convert them to computer-readable text. This does result in misparsings. However, if you’re focusing on the highest-frequency items on the list, you likely will not be impacted by misparsed data.

Tracking Progress

These lists can be used to track your progress in learning the vocabulary or kanji in a series.

Marking an item as known removes it from the list and increases the percent known for the series or volume. Stats are based on total words, not unique words, appears in the series or volume.

If you mark a vocabulary word as known by mistake, you can remove it from the known words page. There are currently no “known kanji” pages, so be careful when marking known kanji.

Items marked as known apply to all series and volume tracking pages. Your progress carries over to other series and volumes.

SRS Cards

You can also create SRS cards from these lists. These cards currently use WaniKani’s algorithm for timing between reviews.

Words added to SRS can be reviewed on the SRS page.

Data Storage

Known items and SRS cards are stored in your browser’s local storage.

Kanji Lists

Kanji lists are only available at the series level, not at the volume level.

Kanji lists are split into two separate lists: meanings lists and readings lists.

Meanings lists allowing tracking which kanji you know the meaning of. The meanings are sourced from David Gouveia’s Kanji-Data JSON file.

Readings lists track which kanji you know the readings of.

Vocabulary words are sorted by frequency, from highest to lowest. Hover your mouse over a word to see its frequency value.
