Because of too much with 〜あまり

あまり joins a clause containing an excessive action and the clause that results from it.

The first clause conveys a psychological action or state.

The second clause clause is often, but not always, negative.

The clause preceeding あまり may end in a non-past or past verb, or in a noun or adjective followed by の.

Similar grammar in English includes, “because of too much ~” and “so ~ that ~”.
