More than with 〜方が and 〜より

Grammar: Comparison and Contrast » 〜方が and 〜より

Two objects are compared by appending 方(ほう)が to the subject (the “more”), and appending より to the item being compared with (the “lesser”).

If the subject is a noun, の方が is used. If the subject is a な adjective, な方が is used. Verbs and い adjectives simply use 方が.

More dislikes with 〜方が and 〜より

At breakfast, Chino leaves items untouched. Cocoa comments on this as they head out for school.

ココア:

「私(わたし)よりチノちゃんの方(ほう)が好(す)き嫌(き)い多(おお)いよ」

“Chino has a lot more likes and dislikes thanI do.”
