Receptive verbs with 〜れる

A receptive verb is used when the subject of the sentence has the action of the verb performed on them by another party.
A verb is made receptive by taking the negative stem of ごだん verbs, or appending ら for いちだん verbs, and appending the verb れる. くる becomes こられる, and する becomes される.
The subject (recipient of the action) is marked by the particle が. The performer of the action is marked by the particle に.

Examples
Receiving a biting with 〜れる
While Cocoa thinks Syaro wants her to stay away, Chiya explains that when Syaro was little, she wasbitten often by the shop’s rabbit Anko. (Syaro receivedbites by Anko.)
- 千夜:
- 「小さい頃あんこによくかじられて以来ちょっと恐怖症で…」
齧る’s negative stem is 齧ら. Append れる for 齧られる.
Receiving a haunting with 〜れる
After hearing Chiya’s ghost story, Cocoa is certain they’ll behaunted. (They will receive a haunting.)
- ココア:
- 「ぜ…絶対取り憑かれる…」
取り憑く’s negative stem is 取り憑か. Append れる for 取り憑かれる.
Receiving a held image with 〜れる
Syaro is feeling down because a needless image of her has becomeheld by Rize. (Syaro received a needless image being held by Rize.)
- リゼ:
- 「リゼ先輩に余計なイメージもたれた…」
もつ’s negative stem is もた. Append れる for もたれる.
