Be sure to chew thoroughly before you swallow.

Adding の (or ん) to the end of a sentence turns it into a noun. Adding だ turns it into an "(it) is noun" sentence. When stating something is that inner sentence, it comes off as explanatory.

Big brother, because (to you) sweet things are likable

Big brother, since you like sweet things, you can have my custard pudding.

This の is similar to the word "thing". However, it requires a modifier before it to identify what kind of thing it is. In this case, it refers to "sweet things".
Similar to ほしい, the word 好すき is an adjective, whereas the English equivalent is a verb, "to like". In English, liking is often the action of a human (or other animate) subject, in Japanese the liked item is the subject, with the adjective 好すき describing it as likeable.
Rather than the common Western pudding, プリン refers to a custard pudding. Often it has a caramel topping, although there are other flavors.

The sentence-ending particle ね reflects a common feeling between the speaker and listener, similar to the English "isn't it?" This is typically used in speech (colloquial), but not in formal writing.
