During an overnight school trip, a classmate tells a ghost story right before bedtime. While everyone else easily falls asleep, Sakura is too scared to close her eyes. The next morning, when Sakura washes her face, Tomoyo hands her a towel.
- さくら:
- 「ありがとーーー」
- “Thank you!”
- 知世:
- 「きのうは ちゃんと眠れました?」
- “Were you able to properly sleep last night?”
Here, ちゃんと refers to sleep as one should, rather than being awake all night.
Roast it properly with ちゃんと

Masaki’s dream job making coffee turns out to be nothing like he expected, as he’s put to work sorting out good beans from bad. When he finally has the chance to roast beans, he’s eager to use the fancy roasting machine, but he’s instead given handheld a coffee roaster to hold over a portable stove’s flame.
- エゾリスA:
- 「ほらほら ちゃんと揺すらないと〜」
- “Come on, come on. You have to shake it properly.”
- エゾリスB:
- 「一部だけ焦げちゃうわよ〜」
- “Parts of it might get burnt.”
- マサキ:
- 「うるさいなあ」
- “Hush up!”
Here, ちゃんと conveys that there is a proper way to roast the beans, and Masaki needs to roast them the way they should be roasted. If any beans burn, it is because Masaki is not roasting them the correct way.
Watch the kid properly with ちゃんと

Conan and Ran end up with Kogoro investigating a kidnapping case. As Kogorp questions the butler, Conan steps in with his own questions. The butler asks who the child is.
- 小五郎:
- 「いやー、わたしの知り合いの子でして…」
- “Well, it's the child of an acquaintance, and...”
- 「蘭!! ちゃんと面倒見てろ!!」
- “Ran! Properly look after him!”
ちゃんと is used here to say Ran needs to watch the kid properly, the way a kid should be watched over.
面倒見る means to watch over someone.
