Sacchan’s mother has an overstock of bananas at her fruit shop, so she gives them to Sacchan and her friends to sell around the neighborhood. Later, Sacchan returns having sold all the bananas.

(かあ)さん:
「じゃあ()()げはキミたちの成果(せいか)として(あた)えよう」
“Then I'll give you the sales as your reward.”
「ごほうびだ」
“Consider it a bonus.”

Translated here as “reward”, 成果(せいか) refers to the result of the work the girls put into selling the balances.

Key Points

  1. 成果(せいか) means the results or fruits of effort

    • Here it refers to what the girls achieved by going out and selling the bananas

    • 成果(せいか) often highlights a concrete outcome produced by work

  2. ()()げはキミたちの成果(せいか)として frames the money as earned results

    • 〜として means as or in the role of

    • The mother is saying she will treat the sales proceeds as the girls’ own accomplishment

  3. ごほうびだ gives the kid-friendly takeaway

    • The follow-up line simplifies the idea into a reward or prize

    • That is why English leans toward reward here even though 成果(せいか) is literally result or achievement
