Want you do to something with 〜てほしい

Connecting a verb with 〜て+ほしい is used to express your desire that someone or something do something.
When stating the “someone”, に is attached. In some cases, も or にも may be used.
In the case where the desire is of “something”, such as wanting as traffic light to change, が is typically attached.
The past tense 〜てほしかった is used when you wish something had been done but wasn’t.
Asking for permission can be done using 〜させてほしい.
